Through every neighborhood, every conversation, and every carefully chosen piece, our Parisian Profiles celebrate the people who make the city what it is.
We selected ten people to offer a well-rounded perspective on what it means to be Parisian. They come from across the city and around the world, with distinct professions, personalities, and points of view. Yet they are united by one idea: Paris is home.
For Ludovic, personal style is part of everyday life; even on Sundays.
At 29, he has already spent 21 years skateboarding, a passion that has become inseparable from the way he experiences Paris. But skateboarding is only one part of his creative world. Music, art, clothing, and making things by hand all find their way into his daily life.

Spiritual jazz is a particular passion. For Ludovic, listening to music and discovering new artists is not simply entertainment; it is one of the everyday luxuries he would never want to lose. The other, naturally, is having the freedom to skate whenever he wants.
His interest in creativity extends to his wardrobe in a particularly personal way. In his free time, Ludovic sews and makes his own trousers. Clothing, then, is not only something he consumes. Understanding how a garment is made gives him a different relationship with the pieces he chooses to wear.

Perhaps that explains the straightforward qualities he searches for when buying something he plans to keep: quality and comfort. Neither depends on novelty or a particular trend. They are qualities that reveal themselves through use—the difference between something that looks good momentarily and something that genuinely becomes part of your life.
Ludovic describes art and artistic creation as something that surrounds his life. It is present in the music he listens to, the trousers he makes, the skateboard he rides, and the way he dresses. Even his definition of being Parisian comes back to personal presentation: making an effort to dress well, even on a Sunday.
For him, creativity is less a separate pursuit than a way of moving through everyday life.

Ludovic’s Paris Tip: Head to 38Riv, an intimate jazz club in the Marais and one of Ludovic’s favorite places in the city. For someone whose life is so closely connected to music, it is a fitting recommendation.
Ludovic wears the Jacques New in Black and White, a versatile color combination designed to fit easily into any wardrobe. From the skatepark to an evening out, this comfortable loafer moves effortlessly from day to night.
He also wears the Edouard Brown, an equally versatile five-eyelet derby. The leather molds to the foot with wear while retaining its shape over time, and the recognizable pleat pairs particularly well with a wide-leg jean or trouser. It is an easy shoe to put on and feel confident in.
